I've always loved retro commercial art.
From the mail order adds in the back of comic books to the mascots on sugary cereals.
I've often wanted to recreate the look of this kind of artwork. Being that I'm a great illustrator (nor do I care to be) it's always been attractive to me to find and use retro artwork in my design work.
There's just one catch to this type of artwork. Though it's all old the artwork from the 1940s and 1950s isn't quite old enough to be guaranteed to be in the public domain.
But we all know this era of artwork is the best kind!
